first week of the semester

Today was supposed to be the last day of my first week but the weather delivered a snow day!!! haha i didn't expect i'd experience my first snow day while in the middle east but i'll take it. the first week was only language classes. I'm taking 6 units of fusha arabic ( which is modern standard arabic) and 3 units of ammiya (the local dialect in jordan). next week i get to add "Environment and politics of the water" and "jordan and the israeli-arab conflict". my living situation is not what i expected. I chose to live in an apartment rather than a homestay but i ended up with a combination of the two. two other students and i live in the basement floor of a christian families home. the family also houses a homestay student on their floor and three more students on the second story, so their are 7 american students in all living in the house. The family has two sons in their twenties, one of which really enjoys the nightlife in Amman. I didnt expect to be hitting up bars while here but i already have a couple times. my battery is about to die.
